  • This is a NATURALIZER. It likes to spread quickly! It may not be suitable for controlled, formal landscapes. it is very good for areas where you want to replace invasive plants with a competitive native species.

  • beneficial for bumblebees, solitary bees, butterflies/moths

  • *host plant for Endothenia hebesana

  • elegant cut flower - the blooms can be shaped into desired form and will stay in place (hence, the name “obedient plant”)

  • natural habitat: stream banks, seeps, riverside prairies and outcrops, disturbed alluvial soils, damp clearings, and ditches

  • good rain garden plant
